Why Choose a Spanish Immersion Program?

What makes a Spanish immersion program like AMA special? Language and communication are at the core of human experience. By enrolling your child in a bilingual education, you’re setting them up for success in a global society.

At AMA, students don’t just learn to speak Spanish; they gain exposure to a diverse cultural landscape through Xicanx culture, music, dance, and art. This culturally reflective approach enriches their learning experience and strengthens their ability to connect with different communities.

But why is bilingualism so important? Studies show bilingual children have better problem-solving skills, greater cognitive flexibility, and improved academic outcomes. Learning another language also fosters empathy and respect for different cultures, making it a meaningful gift to give your child. Who wouldn’t want that for their child?

Financial Aid and Support

Are you concerned about the cost? Don’t be. At AMA, we believe every child deserves access to high-quality early childhood education, regardless of financial situation. We offer a Scholarship Program and bartering opportunities for low—to medium-income families. You can apply for financial aid here, and we’ll work with you to create a bartering schedule that fits your availability. It’s our way of making education accessible to all.

Remember, no one is turned away for financial hardship. Our community thrives because we lift each other. All you need to do is fill out the financial aid form, including your weekly availability and skill set, and we’ll do the rest. Spread the love, as we like to say. Adelante!

Benefits of a Spanish Immersion Program Like AMA

Aside from the cost, what are the other benefits of enrolling your child in a Spanish immersion school?

  1. Cultural Competence: AMA helps children develop linguistic skills and an appreciation for cultural diversity. Through the daily integration of the Spanish language, your child will learn about customs, traditions, and values from various Spanish-speaking communities.
  2. Academic Advantage: Research shows that bilingual children outperform monolingual peers in reading, math, and problem-solving areas. The cognitive benefits of bilingualism last well into adulthood, providing long-term advantages.
  3. Community Support: At AMA, we foster a strong sense of community where every family is welcome. Our staff and families reflect the rich diversity of the Bay Area, creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive academically and socially. And remember, AMA is a sanctuary school—we welcome families of all religions, ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, and socioeconomic statuses.
  4. Enhanced Social Skills: Language immersion programs like ours also help children develop strong social skills. Through interactions in two languages, children learn how to navigate different social contexts and communicate more effectively with peers and adults.
