Valerie Ramos was born in San Francisco, CA and was raised in the Peninsula area. After high school, Valerie attended City College of San Francisco and received an Associate in Science degree with a declared major in Nursing. As early in the 2nd grade, she knew she wanted to become someone who can help others in need. While she was completing the prerequisites for Nursing and working in the health care field to gain experience, she decided that she wasn’t going to be able to fulfill her passion working with young children through Nursing. Valerie would like to work closer with young children where she can guide them towards brighter futures. She moved to Oakland in 2009 where she currently resides and plans on staying. She appreciates the diversity, culture, food, and weather the East Bay brings to the Bay Area. Valerie is continuing her education through Merritt College in Early Childhood Education and so far has received her Teacher’s Assistant Certificate. Valerie is a wife and a mother of two beautiful children. She considers herself lucky to have the opportunity to say hello to her daughter in passing who has been an AMA student since she was one years old. It makes Valerie happy every day to be able to contribute to the community she lives in. She understands that it takes a village, patience, and kindness to raise children. Valerie is dedicated to deliver this to the AMA staff and families. She has been fully background checked and is healthy to work with young children.
