SCHOOL-WIDE SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

AMA Mission: To provide a nurturing, home-like and culturally rich learning environment for our children and families. To prepare students for kindergarten entry by acquiring proficient self-care, oral language, and socio-emotional development skills.
Curriculum Theme: Insects and Plants
Student Learning Goals: To teach students about multiple bugs and plant life surrounding our school neighborhood. Learning will be reinforced by way of partner/teacher directed reading, audio stories, observation, and arts & crafts. We seek to spark children’s curiosity by facilitating opportunities for exploring nature as they interact with bugs, plant life, and other animals in our neighborhood.
Students will also develop a variety of skills in the following areas:
Socio-emotional: Shares and respects the rights of others (persons, insects, & plant life)
Language: Actively participates in conversation in Spanish, learning new vocabulary (traffic norms, weather patterns, flower, and insect names)
Physical: Coordinates eye-hand movement, increase attention span @circle/art/reading/writing, and self-discipline/awareness
